Yea of course I realise that, we aint gonna win the league!
So now you know my point. The owners have one year left to sort it or they can forget about selling out every week. I can't be more to the point than that.

But you realise that even if we had a brilliant team that we would still lose games now and then.
You know the Champions were held to a draw last week by Swansea and yesterday lost 3-0. They have 1 point from 2 games.
You're right of course that if we want to consistently sell out we need to improve, but it won't stop us losing games we expect to win from time to time.
You have to admit it was a strange point to make and a stranger way of trying to make it.

I was talking to a life long Chelsea s/t holder yesterday, and as much as I hate to fuel Bulphan's rage about the OS, I have to relate that he is considering a season ticket at Stratford, along with his son and two grandsons.

I'm just saying that we need a side that befits a stadium of that size, and there is only one year left.
If for example we lose at home to Leicester next August or lose a couple of early games I doubt that there will be 54000 people there every week?

Oh right so it was a dig at the owners or anyone that thinks we'll sell out?

Polite - Not trying to be clever, and I don't need any help.
My basic point is if we go there without a side not being able to beat Leicester than we are never going to fill the stadium. I hear the 'we're not guaranteed to win every game' line, but Saturday wasn't a one off, was it? We have always lost to sides we should be beating at home. So unless that changes soon, we won't get nowhere near to selling out every week which is what the owners are telling everyone will happen. That's it.

You've had a bit of a mare here PD.
You've tried to make a clever point, but nobody is really sure of what that point actually is.
Just to cover all points to help you out.
If it's a dig at the new stadium - loads don't like it either, however even those that do don't think it will make us be brilliant every week and so fully expect some shite games there.
If it's a dig at the game at the weekend - if was poor, we played some decent stuff but tactically got it wrong however i'm not sure we'd have been better or worse just because more people watched it.
If it's a dig at those that want to see good football played - I imagine they all still want to see good football played but aren't stupid enough to expect it all the time or for it to be successful all time.
I'm honestly struggling to work out what you're on about.

We were playing badly and not winning - that was the problem. If you're winning enough games then you are generally playing decently and ok to watch.
We were bad to watch and had dire results for half a season,

Personally I don’t like losing, regardless of whom the team is or where we are playing, or the size of the crowd or even what league we are playing in However I will always get behind the Club, Team, and Players that try and never give up. I remember us going to Manchester and Liverpool under Roeder and to be honest I thought he had given up on the trip up there. I also remember the first interview Phil Parkes gave when he signed from QPR where he said what impressed him most about West Ham was when we played them the previous season and West Ham was losing Billy Bonds was still screaming at the players to get forward in the 90th Minute. I was also at Cardiff when we lost to Crystal Palace 1 nil in front of 73000 Therefore losing against Leicester is not nice however most the team put a shift in, hats off to them for doing their homework

If we'd just been promoted playing good football and beat Leicester away after they had been managed by Allardyce for three seasons would you have jizzed on the ceiling?

Losing at home to Leicester while trying to bore everyone to death, creating nothing, lumping it long and relying on a set piece goal?
Is that a better way to approach it?
Discuss.
